Restaurants & dining in Cody, Duluth, Minnesota
Part of the Cody neighborhood guide. Back to the full guide.
Cody has no restaurants, cafes or bars of its own. What it has instead is a two-minute drive to the best-served commercial strip in West Duluth.
The Spirit Valley district immediately downhill carries the everyday west-side restaurants along its main street, and it is where most residents go without thinking about it.
Seven to eight minutes west, on the Proctor side, Black Woods Grill & Bar is the nearest full-service restaurant for a family dinner out, with Gronk's Grill and Bar covering the neighborhood-bar slot.
The real draw is ten to eleven minutes northeast in the Lincoln Park Craft District: Duluth Grill for scratch cooking, OMC Smokehouse for barbecue with a patio, Bent Paddle Brewing and Ursa Minor for taprooms, and Duluth Cider. For a neighborhood at this price point, having that eleven minutes away is a genuine amenity.
Downtown and Canal Park are about fourteen minutes for the full range. The honest framing: if you are content to drive two minutes for everyday food and eleven for something better, Cody is comfortable. If you want to walk to dinner, it is the wrong neighborhood.
