Cody is in Duluth Public Schools (ISD 709) on the west-side pathway: Laura MacArthur Elementary, then Lincoln Park Middle School, then Denfeld High School.
Laura MacArthur at 720 North Central Avenue enrolls roughly 277 students in prekindergarten through grade 5, Lincoln Park Middle at 3215 West 3rd Street about 606, and Denfeld High School at 401 North 44th Avenue West about 951 (NCES Common Core of Data, 2024-2025, accessed 2026-08-13). Denfeld is about six minutes east.
There is a boundary question here worth taking seriously. Cody's western blocks sit close to the line with the Proctor district (ISD 704), which serves Bayview Heights over the hill through Bay View Elementary. That district line is not the city line and it is not obvious from a map. Confirm the assignment for your specific address with the district before you rely on it, and do not trust a listing sheet or a search-portal school tag, which get this corner of the city wrong routinely.
Denfeld enrolls about two-thirds as many students as Duluth East across the city, which means smaller cohorts and easier access to activities against a narrower course catalog.
