About Lincoln Park Middle School

Lincoln Park Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 for the western half of Duluth, and is one of two middle schools in Duluth Public Schools alongside Ordean East on the city's east side. It draws from the west-side elementaries, including Laura MacArthur, Piedmont, and Stowe, and feeds Denfeld High School.

Its role in the west side is the same as Ordean East's on the east: the point where students from several separate neighborhoods, from Lincoln Park down through Spirit Valley and up to Piedmont and Duluth Heights, come together into one cohort. Families choosing among the western neighborhoods should understand that middle school is a merge rather than a continuation.

The school also runs a mountain bike club, which is a genuinely west-side thing to do given how much of the Duluth Traverse trail network sits on this side of the city.

The school enrolls about 606 students in grades 6 through 8 (NCES Common Core of Data, 2024-2025, accessed 2026-08-13), which makes it roughly 60 percent the size of Ordean East on the east side.
