Here is the single most common mistake people make in their first month in the Twin Ports: they finish something at 9:15pm and go looking for dinner.
This region eats early. That is not a criticism, it is arithmetic. A labor market of roughly 175,000 people spread across two states and a heavy seasonal swing does not support a wide late-night restaurant economy, and the places that tried mostly stopped trying. What exists instead is a short, specific list, and knowing it is worth more than knowing the best restaurant in town.
So this article is organized by the clock. Everything below was confirmed from the business's own posted hours in August 2026.
A note on method. We have not eaten at all of these at 1am and are not claiming to have. No ratings, no invented visits. What this article is, precisely, is a verified hours document with editorial framing: we checked each business's own site, and where a business publishes a kitchen close that differs from its room close, we say so, because that gap is what actually ruins the night.
Still serving at 10pm
This is the comfortable hour, and you have real choices.
Burger Paradox, 2113 West Superior Street, Lincoln Park, open to 11pm daily. The most substantial late food in Duluth: a dozen stacked all-beef smash builds, wings, and delivery through DoorDash. Monday to Thursday it does not open until 4pm, so it is an evening business by design.
Ursa Minor Brewing, 2415 West Superior Street, Lincoln Park, to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday, with a wood-fired pizza kitchen attached.
Canal Park Brewing Company, 300 Canal Park Drive, Canal Park, to 10pm most nights and 11pm Friday and Saturday. The kitchen closes an hour before the room, so 9pm on a weeknight is your real last order.
Duluth Cider, 2307 West Superior Street, Lincoln Park, to 10pm midweek and 11pm Friday and Saturday, twenty-plus ciders on tap. No kitchen, food trucks outside.
Love Creamery, 1908 West Superior Street in Lincoln Park and 366 South Lake Avenue in Canal Park, both to 10pm daily, year round. Dessert counts.
Bent Paddle Brewing, 1832 West Michigan Street, Lincoln Park, to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday. No kitchen, but they explicitly welcome food you bring in or have delivered, which makes them a genuine option rather than a dead end. The list halves.
Fitger's Brewhouse, 600 East Superior Street, open to 11pm Sunday through Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Its kitchen closes an hour before the room, at 10pm and 11pm respectively, so this is a room that is open at 11:30pm on a Saturday but is not cooking.

The Cedar Lounge in Superior, to 11pm Friday and Saturday, with pub pizzas and pretzels rather than a menu. If there is a band on, this is where the night is.
Sir Benedict's Tavern on the Lake, 805 East Superior Street in the East End, keeps its bar open to midnight Monday through Saturday, but the kitchen stops at 9:45pm. It is a good place to be at 11pm and a bad place to arrive hungry.

Two, effectively.
Pizza Lucé, 11 East Superior Street, downtown Duluth. Open to 1am every single night, Monday through Sunday, with dine-in, pickup and delivery. It is a Minnesota chain rather than a local original and it earns its place on this list purely on being the only Duluth kitchen that is reliably cooking after midnight. When you have people at the house at 12:30am, this is the entire list.
Fitger's Brewhouse on a Friday or Saturday, for the room rather than the food.

One.
The Anchor Bar, 413 Tower Avenue, downtown Superior, Wisconsin. Open to 2am Sunday through Thursday and 2:30am Friday and Saturday, and it is a burger kitchen, not a bar with a bag of chips: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, Swiss, bacon, olive, Cashew, Anchor and Galley burgers with fresh-cut fries, under a ceiling of maritime salvage including a life ring from the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The Anchor Bar is the reason "cross the bridge" is a normal Duluth sentence at midnight. From downtown Duluth it is about ten minutes over the Blatnik. From Canal Park lodging, about the same.
The pattern, and what it means if you are moving here
Three things worth internalizing before you sign anything.
Nine o'clock is late here. If you are coming from a market where dinner at 9pm is unremarkable, recalibrate. Most Twin Ports kitchens take their last order between 8pm and 9pm on a weeknight. This affects more than restaurants: it is the same labor and daylight math that closes retail early and empties downtown streets on a Tuesday.
The room closing and the kitchen closing are different numbers. Canal Park Brewing, Fitger's Brewhouse and Sir Benedict's all publish a bar close an hour or more after their kitchen close. Nothing on a website makes this obvious. It is the most common way an evening plan fails here, and it is why we listed both numbers.
Superior is the late-night answer, and that is a genuine amenity argument. The one place in the region serving real food at 2am is in Wisconsin, ten minutes from downtown Duluth. If you are weighing an address in Superior, Billings Park or the East End against the Minnesota side, this belongs in the column with the lower taxes and the cheaper house, not as a joke.
And in winter, verify. Every hour in this article is a summer 2026 posted hour. Several of these businesses trim their week after Labor Day. The 11pm option in August is sometimes the 9pm option in February.
