The likely middle and high pathway is the east-side one, Ordean East Middle at 2900 East 4th Street and Duluth East High at 301 North 40th Avenue East, but that too should be confirmed.
Is Chester Park a good neighborhood for families?
Yes, with one honest caveat. It has real yards, mature streets, a creek gorge and a ski hill within walking distance, and prices well below Congdon. The caveat is that roughly half the occupied units are rented, much of that to student households near the campuses, so weekend noise and turnover are higher on the blocks closest to the top of the hill than they are on the creek side or toward Congdon.
Is Chester Park walkable?
For a hillside neighborhood, yes. The cross-slope streets are level and reach the creek trails, the cafe on East 8th Street and the route west toward the co-op. Mount Royal covers grocery and pharmacy under a mile up the hill. The campuses are a walk from the upper blocks. What is not walkable is the mile downhill to the Lakewalk and back, which is pleasant going out and a climb coming home.
