This is the thinnest dining section in the guide, and the neighborhood's two bars carry it.
Gronk's Grill and Bar at 4909 East 2nd Street is the closest sit-down option and a genuinely local room: a full bar, a broad American menu, and a crowd of east-end regulars rather than travelers, which is a real distinction on a highway that carries plenty of both. The Choo Choo Bar and Grill at 5002 East 3rd Street is the other, a long-running east-end room best known locally for its Bloody Mary, which in Wisconsin is a category of construction rather than a drink.
That is essentially the neighborhood's inventory. There is no cafe, no bakery, no restaurant with a dining room in the usual sense, and no coffee to walk to.
Everything else is west, and it is a real drive. Downtown Superior and the Tower Avenue corridor are about fifteen minutes: the Anchor Bar at 413 Tower Avenue for the region's best-known burger, Thirsty Pagan Brewing at 1615 Winter Street for pizza and house beer in the 1908 Soo Line Freight Depot, Earth Rider Brewery at 1617 North 3rd Street and its Cedar Lounge taproom for beer and live music, and Hammond Steak House at 1402 North 5th Street for the Wisconsin supper club experience. Duluth is about twenty minutes for anything beyond that.
