Schools in Morgan Park, Duluth, Minnesota
Part of the Morgan Park neighborhood guide. Back to the full guide.
Morgan Park is in Duluth Public Schools (ISD 709) on the west-side pathway: Stowe Elementary, then Lincoln Park Middle School, then Denfeld High School.
Distance is the honest headline. Stowe, at 715 101st Avenue West, is the nearest elementary and serves a large, thinly settled far-west catchment. Lincoln Park Middle and Denfeld High are both back toward the West Duluth core, roughly ten minutes northeast by car and a considerably longer bus ride. A family here should map the actual route and time it in February rather than reasoning from the map.
Denfeld enrolls roughly 951 students (NCES Common Core of Data, 2024-2025, accessed 2026-08-13), about two-thirds the size of Duluth East on the other side of the city, which means smaller cohorts and easier access to activities against a narrower course catalog.
The irony of this is worth noting given the neighborhood's history: Morgan Park was built with what was described as the most modern school in the nation, and children here now bus several miles to school. That is what happens when a company town outlives its company.
The nearest private option is the Stella Maris Academy St. James campus in West Duluth. Attendance boundaries change between years, so confirm the assignment for a specific address with the district.
