Midway reads as quiet rural residential, and the practical risks here are not the ones a city buyer is used to weighing.
Response times are the first. Emergency services cover a large area from Proctor and the surrounding districts, and a rural address means a longer wait than a city one for fire, ambulance and law enforcement. That is not a criticism of anyone's service, it is arithmetic, and it is worth asking about the specific coverage for a specific parcel.
Wildfire and defensible space are the second, on wooded parcels. So is the ordinary rural business of sharing ground with wildlife, including deer on the roads at dawn and dusk and bears in late summer.
Interstate 35 is the third. Parcels near it get both the noise and the traffic risk of a major highway through otherwise quiet country.
