Who lives in East End / Endion, Duluth, Minnesota
Part of the East End / Endion neighborhood guide. Back to the full guide.
The East End has the broadest household mix of any neighborhood in this guide, and the housing stock explains it. Because the area combines large single-family houses, converted duplexes and upper-lowers, and a range of price points from well under to well over the citywide median, it draws first-time buyers, young professionals, long-tenured owners of the bigger houses, and renters in roughly equal measure.
Its walkability shapes who it suits. This is one of the few Duluth addresses where a household can genuinely function with one car or none, which makes it attractive to people working downtown, at the hospitals, or at the colleges up the hill, and to anyone whose priority is not driving through a Duluth winter.
Ownership rates run lower here than in the east-side neighborhoods further out, reflecting the conversion stock, and investor ownership is a real part of the market.
