Grocery, pharmacy, and hardware are on the Belknap corridor about two and a half miles east, with the Walmart Supercenter and the US 2/53 strip further out. There is no convenience retail inside the neighborhood worth relying on. Households here keep a stocked pantry, which is sensible practice across this region anyway.
Civic errands mean a ten-minute drive east to downtown, where the Douglas County courthouse, city hall, the post office, and the Superior Public Library sit within a few blocks of each other. For anyone new to Wisconsin, that is a single trip for licensing, registration, and voter registration.
Medical care splits between Essentia Health's Superior facilities and the two large Duluth hospital systems fifteen minutes over the bridges. The Bong Bridge makes Duluth's west-side clinics and the SMDC facilities relatively quick from here.
