It suits first-time buyers, budget-conscious households, people who want to cycle and walk on flat ground, and investors looking at the duplex stock, which is the densest concentration of it in the city.
Look elsewhere if you need a grocery within walking distance, if you want a move-in-ready house with a dry basement and no surprises, or if the sound of a working port at night would bother you. If you want the same era of housing on the Minnesota side, Lincoln Park has it with Duluth's hills and Duluth's prices attached.
