For a full grocery, pharmacy counter and hardware store, the two realistic options are roughly equidistant: the Spirit Valley district about fourteen minutes northeast, or Cloquet about eighteen minutes southwest. Plenty of households here use Cloquet, which is a reversal of what the Duluth mailing address implies.
Miller Hill, about twenty minutes northeast, covers big-box retail and most chain services. Downtown is twenty-two minutes for banking, the main library branch and professional services.
Medical is a long reach. Essentia Health and St. Luke's are both downtown-adjacent at roughly twenty-two minutes, and Cloquet's clinic and hospital are closer at about eighteen.
