About Duluth Cross City Trail

The Cross City Trail is Duluth's long-running project to build a continuous paved route across the city, linking the Willard Munger State Trail at the west end through Lincoln Park and downtown to the Lakewalk on the east.

Completed in segments over many years, it is the piece of infrastructure that turns Duluth's separate trail assets into something approaching a network. For a rider starting in Proctor, it is the difference between a 63-mile out-and-back on the Munger and a route that continues into the city and out along the lake.

Because it has been built incrementally, the continuity and quality vary by segment, and some sections still use on-street connections.

Good to know: paved cross-town route, Munger Trail and Lakewalk connections, commuting route, separated path segments.
