About Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park is the creek gorge park that gives the neighborhood its name, running along Miller Creek as it drops off the hillside toward the harbor. The main trail is about 1.2 miles, following the water through thick foliage past a waterfall, and it is the kind of dense green corridor that surprises visitors who assume the west side of Duluth is all industry and grid.
It belongs to the same era and idea as Congdon Park and Chester Park on the east side: a creek ravine kept as public land while the neighborhood built up around it, with stonework from the early park-building decades still in place.
For Lincoln Park residents, the park is the counterweight to the Craft District. Two blocks from the breweries and the renovated brick storefronts on West Superior Street, the neighborhood has a waterfall and a wooded gorge, which is a genuinely unusual pairing.
