About St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church

St. Francis Xavier is the Catholic parish of Superior's East End and the neighborhood's most visible landmark. The parish was founded in 1854, making it the third established in what is now the Diocese of Superior, and the present church was dedicated in 1908. Its steeple is one of the most recognizable features of the Superior skyline from the bay side.

Note the diocese: Superior, Wisconsin sits in the Diocese of Superior, not the Diocese of Duluth across the harbor. Confirm Mass times with the parish directly rather than from a third-party directory, since this guide does not publish service times without direct confirmation and commercial church directories in this region are frequently out of date.

Service times change. Confirm directly with the congregation before you attend.
