About Osaugie Trail

The Osaugie Trail is five paved, flat miles along Superior Bay, running from the US 2/53 junction east past Barker's Island to Moccasin Mike Road (City of Superior, accessed 2026-08-13). It is the Wisconsin side's answer to Duluth's Lakewalk, and it is considerably less crowded.

The route puts the working harbor on one side and the city on the other, passing the marina, the Inner Beach, and the SS Meteor at Barker's Island. From the eastern end it is a short continuation toward Wisconsin Point.

What makes it valuable to residents is what makes all of Superior different from Duluth: it is flat. Five car-free miles with no climbing turns a bicycle into practical transportation rather than a workout, and the trail is the backbone of everyday cycling in the city.

Good to know: flat paved path, Superior Bay shoreline, Barker's Island and SS Meteor access, connection toward Wisconsin Point.
