About Castle Danger Brewery
Castle Danger Brewery has been brewing on the North Shore since 2011, and its taproom at 17 7th Street in downtown Two Harbors looks out over Lake Superior with a patio for summer.
It has since grown into the fourth-largest brewery in Minnesota and brews the state's top-selling cream ale, which is a remarkable thing for a town of about 3,400 people to have produced. The name comes from a stretch of shoreline northeast of town whose own origin nobody can fully explain, which is about as North Shore as a detail gets.
There is no kitchen. The taproom sells snacks and you are welcome to bring food in or order from nearby restaurants, an arrangement that works better than it sounds in a town where the good food is a two-minute walk away. For residents it is the closest thing Two Harbors has to a year-round social room.
Good to know: craft beer, taproom, Lake Superior views, patio, cream ale, snacks only, outside food welcome.
