About 18 Oakes Park

18 Oakes Park is the city park at 1725 Oakes Avenue, two blocks west of Tower Avenue and a short walk south of the downtown commercial core (City of Superior, Parks, Recreation and Forestry, accessed 2026-08-14).

Its practical significance is position. Downtown Superior and the North End are both built out with commercial and industrial ground and neither has a park of its own, so this is the closest municipal green space to a large part of the walkable centre of the city, well inside the distance at which people actually use a park on foot.

It is one of six sites the City runs its summer playground program from, a supervised program for children aged five to eleven. The City does not publish a facility list per park.

Good to know: playground.
