About Gitchi Gami Trail Association
The Gitchi Gami Trail Association advocates and fundraises for the completion of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail, the paved non-motorized path planned to run 86 miles along the North Shore from Two Harbors to Grand Marais.
More than 36 miles are open in completed segments, including the spectacular cliff-top stretch around Silver Creek Cliff built on the old highway alignment after the tunnel opened, and the segments through Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse state parks.
Because the trail has been built in stages over decades, the association's segment-by-segment information is the most reliable public guide to what is actually rideable.
