About New Scenic Cafe
The New Scenic Cafe sits on Scenic Highway 61 northeast of Duluth, past Brighton Beach on the road that hugs the Lake Superior shoreline. It is the region's long-standing destination restaurant, the one Twin Ports residents name when someone asks where to go for an occasion.
The kitchen works a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu, and the gardens around the building supply part of it. What distinguishes it locally is not just the cooking but the drive: getting there means fifteen minutes of shoreline highway, which turns dinner into an outing even for people who live in the city.
For Lester Park and Lakeside residents the practical point is proximity. From the far east end this is roughly ten to fifteen minutes, close enough to be a weeknight option rather than an expedition, which is one of the underrated advantages of living at that end of Duluth. Reservations are generally advisable.
