Lakeside-Lester Park Community Club
About Lakeside-Lester Park Community Club
The Lakeside-Lester Park Community Club is the neighborhood association for Duluth's far east side, covering both Lakeside and Lester Park. Duluth has an unusually strong community club tradition, and this is one of the more active examples: the City of Duluth explicitly lists Lester Park as managed in partnership with the club (City of Duluth, accessed 2026-08-13).
Its most visible work is the Lester Park Rendezvous, the annual September festival held in the park with food, crafts, and entertainment. Beyond that the club handles the ordinary business of a neighborhood association: park stewardship, event permits, and organized comment on city decisions that affect the area.
That last role has mattered recently. The future of the former Lester Park Golf Course land, which the city council voted in December 2025 to move toward possible housing development, is exactly the kind of decision the club exists to organize around. New residents who want a say in how the east end changes should start here.
